Playoff Preview

All the playoff teams are listed in order of seeding, along with their records, records verses other playoff teams, home and away records, and rankings in offense and defense within conference. I've mislaid my league reports from weeks four to six in the move down south, so there is an element of educated guesswork in the records – apologies in advance for any glaring errors...

Enter the playoffs on a 13 game winning streak and, with an unbeaten home record and clearly the best defense of the AFC contenders, must be considered strong favourites. However, that one defeat came at the hands of their nearest rivals.

An overpowering offense has been the key to success, but defensive weaknesses were highlighted in the unexpected defeat in Miami – a result which cost them homefield advantage.

Unbeaten home record came to an end against Indianapolis in week sixteen, would probably be the wildcard anyway and will struggle to reach the Superbowl on the road

Games against playoff opposition weren't as one sided as the record indicates, but it is hard to see them progressing far.

Homefield advantage and unbeaten at home makes them favourites in the NFC. Erratic quarterback play is still a worry, however, as an interception at the wrong time could ruin their season.

Have played great defense all year and the offense has been able to control possession for the most part, will be kicking themselves after week sixteen loss to the Eagles.

Comfortably won a weak division but, apart from week one win against Green Bay, haven't done well against playoff calibre opposition.

Great home record but not many home games left. Have had no trouble beating wildcard teams (Chicago and the Jets) but have lost to all three division winners.

Only win against playoff opposition came at home against Atlanta, a solid team but not good enough to go all the way on the road.
